2011 Safety Awards

Innovation Award
   The winner of the 2011 Innovation Award is Independent Concrete Ltd.  for their work with the Langford Fire Rescue on confined space accident recovery.  The Fire Rescue crew conducted simulations of actual medical emergencies, extracting personnel from a mixer drum and a silo mancage.  All parties involved felt that by conducting these simulations, they are better prepared to react if such a situation ever arises.  Congratulations Independent Concrete Ltd. for taking the extra steps to protect your employees and promote safety in the workplace. 

President's Award
  BCRMCA President, Frank Antonio, presented the 2011 President's Award for Safety to Gastaldo Concrete Pumping Ltd. in recognition of Gastaldo's exceptional leadership, effort and service as a safety champion for the BC concrete industry.  In addition to their collaborative work on BCRMCA's Concrete Pumping Committee, Paolo and Luigi Gastaldo have volunteered their time to train over 100 new WorkSafeBC Prevention Officers on concrete pumps and BC's concrete pumping industry.
